L.G. Mistry & Sons

If you know where Krishna Cinema is, you’ve probably walked right past L.G. Mistry & Sons. We are right there in the thick of things. It gets pretty loud when a big movie is playing or when the crowds come out for the evening shows. Our shop has been around for a long time. My father started things, and now we’re the ones keeping it going. It’s a typical family business where the sons learn from the elders. We have tools and materials scattered around because we're always in the middle of a project. The floors have dust on them, and there’s always the smell of whatever we’re working on that day. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you want to see what we do, you just look at the workbench. People stop by to chat while they're waiting for their movie to start. We know most of the street vendors around here. Sometimes we lose track of time because there’s so much to do. We don’t have a website that gets updated or any of that. We just do the work as it comes in. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but everyone knows where we are. It’s a bit messy, and the chairs are old, but it’s a place where real work happens. We like being near the cinema; it makes the day feel faster with all the people moving around. We just keep at it.
