Kothari Engineering Co

Our workshop is located at 301 in the Dhaniavi GIDC Industrial Estate. Being in an industrial zone, Kothari Engineering Co is surrounded by factories and the sound of machines. It’s a dusty place. We have a large shutter door that stays open most of the day to let the air in. Inside, it’s mostly concrete and metal. We have some heavy machinery and benches where we do the actual work. The office part is just a small cabin partitioned off in the corner with some glass windows so we can see the shop floor. It’s noisy and there’s usually a smell of oil or metal in the air. We don't wear suits here. It’s more about overalls and sturdy shoes. We have a small table where we keep the ledger and some blueprints. The tea guy comes around twice a day. We’ve been in this GIDC block for a good while now. The trucks are always coming and going outside, so you have to be careful when you walk. It’s not a place for visitors to sit and relax. It’s a place for making things. We have a lot of tools hanging on the walls. It’s simple, rugged, and it serves us well. We just get on with the engineering work and keep the machines running. Some of the floor is stained with grease, but that's expected. We clean up on Saturday afternoons before heading home for the weekend. It's hard work, but we've been doing it for years. The sun sets early over the factory roofs.
