You can find us at B/4 in Dhanlaxmi Society, which is tucked away in the Alkapuri area. We are right next to Bombay Sandwich, which honestly makes it hard not to go out and get a snack every afternoon when the smell starts drifting over. Alkapuri is a nice part of the city, a bit more relaxed than the main market areas. Our shop is inside the society, so it feels a bit more private and quiet than a main road store. We have racks and racks of sarees that we’ve collected over time. It’s mostly just us and a couple of helpers who know where everything is kept. People usually come in after seeing something they liked, and we spend a lot of time draping fabric over shoulders so they can see how it looks in the light. The society gate is usually open, but it still feels like a little getaway from the noise. We don't do much in the way of big displays or loud signs. It’s a simple room with some good seating and a lot of beautiful cloth. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded on Saturdays, but usually, it's a steady flow of people from around the neighborhood. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the shops around us change, but we just keep doing what we do at B/4. We focus on the thread and the colors and making sure people find what they need without any rush or pressure from anyone.
