Jay Engineering

Jay Engineering is tucked away in the Gidc area of Makarpura, specifically at 901/05/10. Being in an industrial estate like this means there is always something going on around us. You hear the sounds of trucks and other shops from morning until night. Our space isn't huge, but we’ve packed it with the tools we need to get through our daily lists. We do a lot of small-scale engineering tasks. It’s mostly stuff people bring in because they can't find a replacement part or need something specific made out of steel or aluminum. We don't have any big signs or advertisements. Most people find us because someone else told them we were here. The lighting inside isn't the best, so we use portable lamps when we're doing the fine work. It’s dusty, and the heat in Makarpura can be brutal in the summer months, but we just keep the doors open and get on with it. We aren't really into the whole corporate thing. There’s no dress code, just work clothes that are probably going to get stained anyway. We talk to our customers plainly. If something is going to take a week, we say it’ll take a week. We don’t try to sugarcoat things. It's a straightforward way of living. We just want to make sure the work we send out the door is solid and does what it’s supposed to do for the person who paid for it.
