Jalaram Engineering

Our shop is at Plot No. 36 in Yogi Estate, which is part of the larger Gidc Estate. It’s a typical industrial setting where everyone is busy doing their own thing. We’ve been in this plot for years, and the walls are covered in the grime that comes from working with heavy machinery. Jalaram Engineering is basically just a group of us who like making things and fixing what’s broken. We have a few lathes and a milling machine that have seen a lot of use. The floor is concrete and usually has a few oil patches that we try to keep sawdust on. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. If someone needs a part made, they come in, show us what they need, and we give them a rough idea of when it’ll be ready. There’s no big sales pitch here. We just like the smell of the cutting oil and the sound of the machines running smoothly. The Yogi Estate can be a bit chaotic with delivery bikes and loaders moving around, but inside our unit, we have our own way of doing things. We take breaks when we can, usually standing around the doorway to catch a bit of a breeze. It’s a steady life, and we don't ask for much more than a good day's work and machines that don't break down too often for us.
