Ice Cream Shop

The Ice Cream Shop is located right at Shop No. 1 in Maneja Nagar. We are tucked away near Kanha Bunglow, which is a pretty quiet area most of the day. In the evenings, things pick up when families from the nearby houses come out for a walk. It is a small space, so we mostly focus on keeping the cabinets stocked with whatever we can get from the distributors. We have a few benches outside where people sit and talk. It’s a simple setup. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the regulars who live around here. Sometimes the kids from the colony come by after school, making a lot of noise, which is fine. It gets a bit dusty on the road sometimes, so there is always cleaning to do. Running a shop like this means you're always checking the temperature of the coolers. If the power goes out, we have to move fast. It is just me and one other person working most shifts. We don't do anything too complicated. We just open the shutters, get the lights on, and wait for people to stop in. The weekends are usually our busiest time because of the families nearby. It’s nice being in a residential spot like this because you get to know everyone's names after a while. We've been at this location for some time now and it feels like home to us.
