Hotmac Engineers

Our workshop is Shed No. 126 in the Gajanan Industrial Park. It is part of the old Ambica Tube Mill Compound, so it’s got that heavy industrial feel to it. At Hotmac Engineers, things are usually loud and a bit greasy. We work with metal and machines all day long. There is always the sound of welding or grinding going on in the background. We aren't the type to sit around in suits. Usually, our clothes have some oil stains on them by noon. The shed is big enough for our equipment but it gets cluttered quickly when we have a few projects going at once. We do a lot of custom work for other businesses in the park. It’s a lot of measuring and double-checking things. Sometimes we have to redo a part because it didn’t fit quite right, but that’s just how engineering goes. The air smells like hot metal and cooling oil. We have a small corner with a desk where we handle the paperwork, but mostly we are out on the floor. It is a tough environment but we like the work. We’ve been in this compound for years and know all the other mechanics and engineers nearby. We just focus on getting the machinery built and out the door so we can start on the next one. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
