Hariom Sarees

Our shop is in Sai Chembers, which is right opposite the Kala Mandir in the Bhattha area of Vadodara. It’s a very active part of town, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping. We have been here for a good while, and the walls are covered with different fabrics and colors. It’s quite a sight when everything is unfolded. Usually, the floor is covered with sarees that we’ve been showing to customers because we don't always have time to fold them back perfectly right away. It’s a bit chaotic during the wedding season, but we like the energy. We don't use any fancy sales talk here. We just show what we have and let people decide for themselves. The shop across from us makes a lot of noise, and the traffic on the main road is always a bit much, but you get used to it. My family has been in this trade for years, so it's just what we know how to do. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day and talk to the regulars who stop by just to say hello. It’s a basic shop with a lot of history in these four walls. We don't bother with much decoration; the clothes themselves provide all the color anyway. It's just a local place where we do our work every day. People know us for being here and that is enough for us to keep the doors open.
