We are Golden Engineering Co. Private Limited, and you can find us at 686 in the G.I.D.C. Makarpura Industrial Estate in Vadodara. This part of Gujarat is basically nothing but factories and workshops, so we fit right in. Our building is a solid, practical structure that has seen a lot of work over the years. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of machines running and people shouting over the noise to get things done. We do engineering work, which involves a lot of precision and occasionally a lot of grease. It’s the kind of place where you don't wear your nice clothes because they’ll just get ruined by the end of the day. The estate is huge, and sometimes even the delivery drivers get lost trying to find number 686, but we’ve been here so long that most of the locals know where we are. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or making the front office look like a hotel. We’d rather spend that money on better tools or fixing the roof when it leaks. The team here is mostly made up of guys who like to work with their hands and solve mechanical problems. We have our tea breaks together and talk about the cricket scores or the local news. It’s a no-nonsense environment where we just focus on the engineering tasks we have for the week. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know.
