At Plot No. 153, Rasa Engineering is basically just a workshop where we get our hands dirty every day. There is always the smell of machine oil and the sound of metal being cut or ground down. We aren't a big operation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a handful of us who know how to handle the lathes and the milling machines. We take on whatever engineering jobs come our way, from simple parts to things that are a bit more complicated and require a lot of measuring. The floor is concrete and usually has some oil stains that won't ever come out. We don’t have a fancy website or a glossy brochure to show people. If you want to see what we do, you just have to walk into the shop and look at the workbenches. Sometimes we stay late because a part has to be finished for a client who is waiting, and we just order some food and keep going. The lighting isn't the best, and it can get pretty loud when everyone is working at once, but we don't mind. We’ve been at this plot for a while, and we like the independence of running our own small shop. It’s about the work itself, not about looking good for the public. We just try to be honest about what we can do and get it done on time. It’s a simple way to make a living and we have been doing it for years.
