Gajanan Engineering Works

Gajanan Engineering Works is my place over in Makarpura. We are at 253/A/34. It’s located in the area near Iit Powai, right opposite Doctor & Doctor Co. Being in an industrial zone like Makarpura means there is never any silence around here. You hear the hum of generators and the clanging of metal from early morning until late. My shop is full of tools, welding gear, and pieces of iron waiting to be used for something. I’ve been working at this spot for a long time. The floor is stained with oil and there’s metal shavings in every corner, no matter how much we sweep. We do fabrication and all sorts of mechanical repairs for people. It’s a lot of sweat and hard work every day. The company across from us, Doctor & Doctor, is a good landmark because people often get lost in these industrial lanes. The roads are a bit rough, and when it rains, the whole area gets quite muddy. Inside the shop, it’s all business. We don’t have any air conditioning, just a couple of big ceiling fans that struggle in the summer heat. I usually eat my lunch sitting on a wooden crate near the back door. People bring us things that are broken or need a specific part made from scratch. We look at it, figure it out, and get to work. It’s the kind of place where your hands are always black with grease, but the work is steady. That is pretty much how things are for us here.
