Engraver & Engineering Works

Our workshop is located right across from the S.T. Depot in Makarpura. We are at Plot No. 992 / 4 / 2 in the G.I.D.C. Estate. Being so close to the bus depot means there is always a lot of activity, with people shouting and buses honking their horns at all hours. Engraver & Engineering Works has been sitting in this exact spot for a very long time now. We handle various engraving jobs and some smaller engineering tasks. The machines we use every day are quite old, but they are very reliable if you know exactly how to oil them and fix the belts. The air inside the shop always smells like a mix of metal shavings and machine oil. We do not have any air conditioning in here, so we rely on those large industrial ceiling fans that hum loudly while we work. Most of our clients are other small businesses from within the G.I.D.C. estate. They just walk over with their parts, and we get the engraving done for them. Occasionally, the power goes out in this sector, and we all just go stand outside by the tea stall and wait it out. It is a good time to catch up with our neighbors. We do not care much for fancy titles or corporate rules. Everyone just pitches in wherever help is needed, from sweeping to technical work.
