Dilbahar Ice Cream

The shop is right there on S V Road, tucked into Natasha Park near the S P Petrol Pump. It can get pretty loud with all the bikes and trucks pulling in for fuel across the street. We stay open quite late because the boys from the military hostel come over when they have free time. Ice cream is what we do. We have the big chest freezers lined up against the wall. They hum all day and night. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to worry about the temperature, but mostly it is fine. We spend a lot of time scooping and wiping down the glass counters. The floor is tiled because it is easier to clean when kids drop their cones. It isn't a fancy parlor with soft music. It is just a place to get something cold. We see the same faces from the neighborhood almost every evening. Some people just sit on their scooters outside and eat. We keep the flavors we know people like. There is no complicated menu here. We just write the prices on a board. Managing the stock takes some work, especially in the summer months when everyone is thirsty and hot. Asoj gets dusty, so we are always dusting the lids of the tubs. It is a simple life running a small stall like this one. We just try to keep the freezers cold and the floor clean enough.
