C.P. Forge

We have been here at plot 287 in the Makarpura G.I.D.C. for a long time now. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always noise and movement around us, which is just how things go in the forging business. People know us as C.P. Forge. We mostly spend our days dealing with metal, heat, and hammers. It’s hard work and the shop floor gets pretty hot, especially during the summer months in Gujarat. We don't have a fancy office with leather chairs. Most of our time is spent looking at drawings or checking the pieces coming off the line. Sometimes things get delayed because of power cuts or machines needing a bit of grease, but we just get on with it. We handle a lot of different orders for various parts that people need for their machines. The guys working here have been with us for years and they know the smells and sounds of the forge better than anything else. If you come by, you’ll probably find us covered in a bit of soot or talkative about the latest batch we finished. We just try to get the dimensions right so the parts fit where they are supposed to. It isn't a glamorous life but it's what we know how to do. We keep the machines running and try to make sure the inventory moves out on time. That is basically the story of our daily life here in Makarpura.
