Jay Khodiyar Spring Works

Jay Khodiyar Spring Works is just a small workshop at Plot No. 408-7 in the Gidc Industrial Estate. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the machines. The place is full of wire coils and finished springs of all different sizes. It can be a bit of a mess sometimes, with scrap metal on the floor. We try to keep it organized but when we get busy, that goes out the window. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. We just show up every morning and start bending wire. The machines make a lot of noise, so we don't talk much while they are running. We've been in this estate for years and have seen many neighbors come and go. We stay put at Plot 408-7. It’s a sturdy enough building. We don't have an office with a computer. We mostly just write things down on bits of paper or in a small notebook. If someone needs a spring, they usually bring an old one for us to look at. We don't do anything promotional. We just do the work and hope the machines don't break down. It’s a simple way to earn a living. The tea stall at the corner is where we spend our breaks. It is just a normal local business doing its thing every day. We don't mind the grease.
