Columbia Machine Engineering (I) Pvt. Ltd. operates out of a pretty large space in the Makarpura GIDC. If you look at our address, it covers a lot of plot numbers like 323 to 325 and several others like 331 and 335. It’s a big industrial estate in Vadodara and we’ve been here for quite some time. The sound of machinery is pretty much the background music of our daily lives. Since it’s a GIDC area, everyone around us is also doing some kind of manufacturing or engineering work. Our place isn't meant to look pretty for visitors; it’s built for heavy machines and getting things manufactured. We have a lot of space to move things around, which is necessary for the type of engineering we do. The roads inside Makarpura can get a bit congested with trucks, but that’s just the way it is in a busy industrial zone. We have different sections for different parts of the work across those various plots. It's a bit of a walk from one end to the other sometimes. The staff here are used to the grease and the noise. We aren't a small startup; we have the room to handle bigger projects. We just focus on the machines and the orders we have. It’s practical work for practical people. Most of the time we are just busy on the shop floor making sure the equipment is being put together the way it should be.
