The shop is over on Ajwa Road, just a little way down from Supur Bakery. Usually, you can smell the bread baking from next door while we work. We handle various goods and supplies here. It’s mostly just keeping track of what comes in and what goes out. The space in B/18 isn't huge, so we have to stack things pretty high. Sometimes we spend the whole afternoon just moving boxes around to find one specific item. It gets hot in the summer because the sun hits the front door directly. We have a small desk where the ledgers stay. It’s a family-run kind of setup. People from the neighborhood stop by, mostly looking for things they need for their own houses or small projects. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us doing the daily chores. The floor is concrete and a bit cracked in the corners. We’ve thought about fixing it but there is never enough time between orders. If you are looking for us, look for the bakery first and then we are right there. We stay open until the evening when the street lights come on. It’s just how we make a living. Nothing too complicated about it. We just show up and do the work. The ceiling has a small leak when the monsoon is particularly heavy, so we keep a plastic bucket handy. It is just one of those things you deal with in an old building like this.
