Bearing Manufecutring Company

If you ever come down to G.I.D.C. in Makarpura, you’ll find us at Plot 11. It’s an industrial area, so don’t expect any gardens or quiet spots around here. Bearing Manufacturing Company is basically a big shed where we spend most of our daylight hours. It gets quite loud once the machines start running in the morning. You can smell the grease and the metal as soon as you walk through the gate. We’ve been at this spot for a good number of years now. The floor is concrete and usually has some oil spots on it, no matter how much we try to keep it clean. We have a small cabin for the office work, but most of the action happens out on the floor where the lathes are. The heat in Vadodara can be something else in May, so we have these big industrial fans that mostly just move the hot air around. We make bearings, which is straightforward work but it takes a lot of attention so things don't go wrong. We have a few guys who have been with us since the start. We take our lunch breaks together under the shade when it’s too hot inside. There’s a small shop nearby where we get our morning chai. It’s a simple setup, nothing fancy to look at, just a place where work gets done day after day without much fuss.
