B J S Engineering Works

Our place is 304/6/4 in the Gidc, Makarpura Indl. Estate. If you’ve ever been to Makarpura, you know it’s a massive grid of workshops and factories. B J S Engineering Works is tucked away in one of the blocks. It’s mostly metal and concrete around here. The sun hits the tin roofs in the afternoon and it gets pretty warm inside, but we keep the fans going. It’s a functional space. We’ve got the machines set up where they fit best. The floor isn't perfectly level, but it does the job. You can hear the hum of the neighboring units all day long. Sometimes it’s a lathe, sometimes it’s a compressor. We know the guys in the next plot over fairly well. We mostly talk about the traffic on the way in or the power cuts that happen now and then. Finding 304/6/4 isn't too bad if you follow the main road through Gidc, though the turns look similar after a while. We don't spend much time on decorations. There’s a calendar on the wall and a few chairs for when someone needs to sit for a minute. It’s an honest kind of place. The work is what matters, not how the front office looks. We’ve been at this Makarpura address for quite some time now, and the walls have the marks to show for it. Just a regular engineering shop in a busy industrial estate, doing what needs doing.
