Aryakanya Mahavidyalaya

Our college is tucked away in Karelibaug, Vadodara. If you live around here, you probably pass by our gates often. It’s a place for women to study and finish their degrees. The campus isn't overly huge, but it has enough room for everyone to find a quiet corner. Most of the staff have been working here for years, so we all know each other pretty well. You will see students sitting on the steps or near the library during their free hours, usually talking or catching up on notes. The library itself is a bit old, with rows of books that have that specific paper smell. We don’t have fancy elevators or glass walls, just solid brick and mortar that stays cool enough in the Gujarat heat. During exam time, the whole atmosphere changes and everyone gets a bit more serious. You can hear the scratching of pens through the open windows. We have a small canteen where girls grab a snack between lectures. It’s nothing special, just basic food to keep them going. The office staff stays busy with admissions and marksheet issues, which seems to take up most of our day. It’s a straightforward institution where the main goal is just to help these young women get their education done so they can move on to whatever comes next in their lives.
