Akshar Mahila B.Ed College

We are located in the Devraj Building here in Vadodara. It's a busy spot in Gujarat and we have been operating this college for women who want to get into teaching. The B.Ed course keeps everyone pretty occupied during the day. Most of our students come from around the city or nearby villages. They sit in the classrooms, go through their books, and spend a lot of time preparing their lesson plans. It is not a fancy place, just a regular building where people come to learn how to manage a classroom. The halls get quite noisy during the breaks when everyone is talking at once. We have some desks that have seen better days but they work fine for the lectures. The staff here stays busy with the paperwork and helping the girls understand the syllabus. We don't have a huge campus with gardens, but the building is sturdy. It gets hot in the afternoons, so the fans are always going. People know us in the neighborhood because of the name Akshar Mahila. We just try to get through the curriculum and make sure everyone knows what they are doing before they go out to teach in schools. It is just a simple place for education. Sometimes the traffic outside on the road is loud, but inside we just focus on the studies. The teachers here have been around for a while and they know the routine. We are just doing our job in this part of Vadodara. It works for us.
