Kamal Engineering Works

We are located at E/15 in the Sardar Industrial Estate on Ajwa Road. It’s a big estate and it can be a bit of a maze if you aren't familiar with the turns. Kamal Engineering Works has been in this unit for quite some time now. The walls are made of brick and the roof is corrugated metal, so it gets loud when it rains. We do a lot of metalwork and machining here. There are piles of scrap in the corner and a heavy workbench that has seen better days. We don't have a receptionist; if you come in, you usually have to shout over the sound of the lathe to get someone’s attention. Most of us have grease on our hands by ten in the morning. It’s just the nature of the work. We drink tea out of steel tumblers and eat our lunch sitting on wooden crates. The air is always a bit metallic and there is a thin layer of oil on most surfaces. We aren't trying to be a big corporation. We just like fixing things and making parts that work. The estate stays busy until late, and we usually stay until the last job is finished. Ajwa Road is always packed with traffic, so we try to get our shipping done early. It’s a basic shop where we put in a full day's labor and don't make a fuss about it. We have an old radio that plays local songs while we work.
