Ahiras Engineering Works

You can find Ahiras Engineering Works over in the G I D C Estate in Asoj. We are at 900-C-1, which is right near the Purohit Hotel. If you look across the way, you’ll see the Vastu Pharma Company building too. This is an industrial area, so it’s not exactly quiet or clean. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal or the hum of the machines running. We do a lot of different engineering tasks, mostly fixing parts or making pieces for bigger machines. It’s the kind of place where your hands are always greasy and there is metal dust on everything. We have a big workbench that’s seen a lot of years and a few different welding setups. We don't have a fancy office; we usually just talk to customers right on the shop floor. If it’s raining, the sound on the metal roof is so loud we can hardly hear each other. We take our breaks when we can, usually heading over toward the hotel for a quick bite. It’s hard work and the days are long, especially when a machine breaks down and someone needs it fixed right away. We don't worry about being polished. We just focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the welds hold. It’s just how we do things here in Asoj. The sun sets and we pack up for the night.
