Guru Krupa Hotel

Our hotel is on the Kemannu Main Road in the Badanidiyur area of Udupi. We are quite close to the Ganapathi Cooperative Bank, so we get a lot of people who work there or are just finishing their banking business. This part of Udupi is a bit more relaxed than the main city center, but the road still gets busy with local traffic. The weather here is usually humid because we aren't too far from the coast. We have a simple setup, nothing like the big fancy hotels you see in the magazines. It’s just a place where people can come in and sit down for a meal. We open up in the morning when the sun is just coming up and the air is still a bit cool. My brother and I handle most of the daily tasks, from buying the vegetables to managing the accounts. The building is plain, and we don't have any big neon signs. We’ve known the bank staff for years, and they often come over for their tea breaks. It feels more like a neighborhood gathering spot than a business sometimes. We don't have any grand plans to expand or anything. We just want to keep things running smoothly and make sure everyone gets what they need. Every evening, we watch the traffic die down on Kemannu Road before we finally lock up and head home to our families for the night. That is just how our days go here in Badanidiyur.
