Shree Godawari Academy

Our academy is tucked away in Hiran Magri Sector 4. It is not a very big place, just a few rooms we set up with desks and benches for the students. We started this because we saw a lot of kids in the neighborhood needing a bit of extra help with their schoolwork. It gets quite loud in the afternoons when the schools let out and everyone rushes in here. We have some fans that rattle a bit, but they do the job when it gets hot in Udaipur. The walls are covered with some old charts and maps we’ve had for years. We do not have any fancy computers or high-tech gear. It is just books, paper, and a lot of talking. Sometimes I get tired of repeating the same math formulas, but seeing a kid finally understand something makes it okay. Most of the parents here know us by name because we have lived in the area forever. We don't do any big advertisements on the radio or anything. People just find us by asking around Sector 4. It’s a bit of a mess during the rainy season because the hallway gets muddy, but we try to keep the classrooms clean. We just want to help the local students get through their exams without too much stress. It is just a small, local place where learning happens every day. It is mostly about the work and the kids.
