About Indo American Public School – Education in Udaipur
Udaipur is known for being a tourist spot, but for those of us at the school, it's just where we work every day. We’re located in the city area, and the building has been there for a good while now. It has that typical look of a school in Rajasthan, with thick walls and high ceilings to help with the heat. In the summer, it gets really hot, and we rely on the old ceiling fans to keep the air moving. The desks are a bit scratched up from years of use, and the playground is mostly dirt and some patches of grass that struggle to grow in this climate. We see the kids coming in from the city streets, some walking and some on cycles. There’s a lot of chatter in the mornings before the bell rings. We don't have a lot of the high-tech stuff you see in movies; we mostly use books and chalk. The staff room is where we hide away during the lunch hour, eating out of our tiffins and complaining about the weather or the traffic near the city center. It’s a very ordinary life here. We follow the calendar, mark the attendance, and try to keep the noise levels down in the library. It’s just a place in Udaipur where we do our jobs and the kids do their lessons, without much fuss or anything extra.
