University Road is always moving, and being at Shivam Mobile means we see a lot of that action from behind the counter. The students are always in a rush, coming in to ask about a cable or why their screen is acting up again. I usually get here around ten and the first thing I do is check if the power is stable. Sometimes it flickers, which is not great when you are trying to fix a phone. The shop is small, so we have to be smart about how we stack the boxes and display the accessories. There is a specific spot on University Road where the buses stop, so we get a lot of people just popping in while they wait. I keep a radio playing at a low volume just to have some background noise that isn't traffic. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. Most days are spent hunched over a workbench with a magnifying glass or talking to someone about their data plan. It is a lot of repetitive work, but it keeps us busy. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know how to handle the basic stuff. When the sun starts to go down, the street lights come on and the vibe changes, but we usually stay open until the last few customers head home.
