You can find Payal Mobile Gallary on Savina Main Road. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there’s always something to look at. I set up this shop because I’ve always liked fiddling with electronics. Most of my day is spent behind a small desk, either selling recharge vouchers or trying to fix a charging port that’s full of lint. The walls are lined with phone cases in all sorts of colors. Some of them have been there a while and are a bit dusty. I don't mind. It’s a comfortable enough spot. I keep a small radio playing in the corner to drown out the sound of the horns outside. Sometimes people come in asking for repairs that are impossible, and I have to explain why their old phone is finally finished. It’s honest work. I don't use any big words or try to confuse anyone. I just tell them what the problem is and how much the part costs. My lunch usually comes in a tiffin from home, and I eat it quickly between customers. The floor needs a good sweep every few hours because of the dirt from the road. It’s a small business, just me and occasionally a friend who stops by to help. We don’t have any big corporate rules here. We just open the shutters and see what the day brings us. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit but it works.
