New Mobile Gallery is on Savina Main Road, where the traffic never really stops. I spend my days looking out the window at the cars while waiting for customers. It’s a narrow shop, but we make it work. Most people come in because they cracked their screen or their battery isn't holding a charge like it used to. I’ve got cables hanging from the walls and a glass case full of second-hand phones that I’ve cleaned up. It’s not some high-end showroom. It’s just a place where you can get your phone fixed without a lot of fuss. Sometimes the soldering iron gets too hot and I have to take a break. I drink a lot of tea from the stall next door. The owner there knows exactly how much sugar I like. Dealing with technology all day can be a bit tiring for the eyes. People ask me which phone is better, and I just tell them what I’ve seen work well over the years. I don’t use any fancy sales talk. If a phone is junk, I’ll probably tell you. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but people still find us. I like being on the main road even if it’s noisy. You get to see everything that’s happening in the city. By the time I lock up, my back usually hurts from leaning over the repair bench. It is what it is.
