Yediyur Bricks & Tile

Our yard is situated at 181, Mallanayakanahalli Road in Yediyur. We deal in bricks and tiles, mostly for local building work. It’s a lot of outdoor work, as you can imagine. We have stacks of red bricks and different kinds of tiles piled up all over the property. Some days we are busy loading up tractors and trucks, and other days it’s a bit quieter and we just organize the stock. We see a lot of local contractors and people who are building their own houses. They come by to look at the tiles and see what we have in. It’s a straightforward business. We don't have any high-tech systems here. We just count the loads and write them down in our books. The sun can get pretty hot on the road here, so we usually start early in the morning to get the heavy lifting done before it gets too bad. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for a long time. We aren't trying to expand into some massive company. We just want to supply the people in Yediyur with the materials they need for their walls and floors. Sometimes the deliveries are late or the weather ruins a batch of something, but we just take it as it comes. It’s a very grounded way to make a living. You see the results of your work in the buildings going up around the neighborhood every single day.
