Standard Bricks & Tiles

You can find us at 548/45 on Beerasandra Road in Tiptur. Standard Bricks & Tiles has been part of the landscape here for a while now. Tiptur is known for its coconuts, but we are all about the clay and the kiln. Handling both bricks and tiles means we have twice as much to worry about. Tiles are a bit more delicate, so you have to be careful when you’re stacking them. One wrong move and you’ve got a pile of broken pieces. The yard is usually a mess of red and orange hues. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Everything is just out there in the open under the sky. The road outside can get dusty during the dry season, and we’re constantly sweeping the office floor, though it doesn't do much good. Sentence lengths vary because I'm just writing this as I think. We have a few old trucks that we use for local deliveries, and they've seen better days. It’s a lot of physical labor, and my joints usually ache by Friday evening. We don't pretend to be anything we aren't. We just supply the materials that people use to build their walls and roofs. It’s practical work. If you come by Beerasandra Road, you’ll see us there, probably arguing over where to put the next load or just taking a break in the shade. That is just how the days go by for us.
