Benaka Driving School

We’ve been running Benaka Driving School on Law College Road in Gandhi Nagar for quite a while now. Tumkur traffic isn't the easiest to navigate, especially around the busy spots, so we spend most of our time out on the roads with people who are nervous about getting behind the wheel. We have our small office here near the law college. It’s nothing fancy, just a place to handle the paperwork and meet up before we head out for lessons. Most folks who come to us are just locals from the neighborhood or students looking to get their license so they can get to work or class. We use the standard cars everyone is used to seeing. Teaching someone to drive takes a lot of patience, and we try to keep things calm in the car because getting stressed doesn't help anyone learn. Usually, we start on the quieter side streets of Gandhi Nagar before moving toward the bigger roads. It's just a regular local business. We keep our schedules on a clipboard and try to fit people in when they're free, whether that’s early morning or after they finish their shifts. We've seen all kinds of learners, from teenagers to older people who never got around to it before. It’s mostly just us doing our job every day, making sure people know how to use their mirrors and handle the clutch without stalling out too much in the middle of an intersection. That is basically how we spend our weeks here.
