Ambika Driving School

The school is located right on Dabbeghatta Road in Turuvekere. If you know where the Hero Honda showroom is, we are just right near there. It’s a good landmark because people always get lost looking for specific house numbers. Being in Tumkur, we get a lot of people from the nearby villages coming in. They usually want to learn so they can get to town easier. We have been in this spot for a while, and the neighbors know us well. The office is small and tucked away, nothing too special to look at. We keep the car keys on a board by the door. Some days the heat is really something else, so we try to do the driving early or late. Teaching someone to reverse is probably the hardest part of the job. You have to have a lot of patience, and sometimes I lose mine a bit when the gears grind, but that’s just how it goes. We aren't trying to be the biggest school around. We just want to make sure people can drive safely on these roads. The traffic by the showroom can get a bit hectic during the middle of the day. Sometimes we just sit outside on the plastic chairs and talk to the people passing by. It’s a quiet life for the most part, just focus on the road and the pedals. We have an old ceiling fan that clicks all day long, but it helps with the heat.
