About Sri Suria Krishna Bricks – Building & Construction Material in Tiruvallur
In the village of Chittkadu, near the Pattabiram Post, we spend our days working with bricks. It is not an easy job, but it is what we know. We are out here in the open, where the clay and the kilns are. The air always smells a bit like smoke and earth. We’ve been part of this community for a long time, and we’ve seen many houses in Pattabiram being built with the bricks from our yard. It takes a lot of patience to get the bricks right. You have to wait for the weather to be just right for drying them. If it rains too much, we are stuck waiting. We don't have any marketing people or a fancy sales team. It is just us, the workers, and the tractors that come in to load up. Most of the time, our clothes are covered in red dust, but we don’t mind it much. People come to us because they know where we are and they know we’ve been here forever. We don't talk in big sentences about what we do. We just make bricks and sell them to whoever needs them for a wall or a whole house. It is a steady rhythm of work that fills our weeks. We like being out here in the village where things are a bit slower than the city. It suits us just fine. On some evenings, when the kilns are cooling down, we sit outside and watch the fields. It is a quiet existence but we are busy enough to keep going.
