Sekaran Brick Works

Sekaran Brick Works is located at No 14 Senthil Murugan Nagar, right near the Vsnl building. If you are driving down Gangai Nagar Main Road in Ambattur, you can't really miss the turn-off. We’ve been making bricks here for years. It is messy work with the clay and the heat from the kilns, but it keeps us busy. The area around here has changed a lot since we first started, with more houses popping up, but we are still in the same spot. We have a small crew of guys who know exactly how to stack the bricks so they don't break. It’s not the kind of job you do if you want to keep your clothes clean. We see a lot of local builders coming through, looking for a load for their latest project. Sometimes the rain slows us down because the bricks need to dry, and that’s just part of the life. We don't have a website or anything like that, we just rely on people knowing where we are. The dust from the road gets everywhere, but we just sweep it out and keep going. Ambattur is a busy place, and being near Gangai Nagar Main Road helps people find us. We just focus on making the bricks and loading the lorries. It is hard work, but it’s honest and it keeps the lights on for us.
