If you drive down the road from Pollachi toward Kollengode or Thrissur, you’ll find us in Ganapathipalayam. Kandasamy Matric Hr Sec School sits right along that route. It’s a beautiful part of the region, with lots of greenery and coconut groves nearby. The school reflects that local feel. We aren't a high-pressure city school with a lot of fancy gadgets. Instead, we have solid classrooms and a big open space where the students can breathe the fresh air. Being on the Pollachi-Thrissur road means we are easy to find, and we get kids coming from many of the surrounding villages. The atmosphere is generally quite calm, though it picks up during the lunch hour or when sports are happening. We have been serving the 642103 area for a good while now, and many of our former students now send their own children here. The staff are mostly local people who understand the community well. We don't put on airs or try to look more important than we are. It’s just about teaching the subjects, helping with homework, and getting through the school year together. The bells ring, the chalk gets used up, and the kids learn what they need to. It’s a simple, honest way of running a school in a place like Ganapathipalayam.
