Johan Impex

Johan Impex is based in a house called Gnanaprakasi Illam, located at 27/a Rajajipuram South Street in Kalakkad, Nanguneri. It’s a bit different from the usual office buildings you see in the big cities. We work out of this place because it’s where we are from. The atmosphere in Kalakkad is a lot slower than in Chennai, but we still keep busy with our export work. Most of our days are spent coordinating with local suppliers and making sure the goods are ready for transport. Being on South Street in Rajajipuram means we’re part of the neighborhood, and people often stop by just to say hello. We handle all the impex paperwork right here at the desk. It’s not always smooth sailing; sometimes we have trouble with the internet or the transport doesn’t show up on time because of the rural roads. But we’ve lived here all our lives, so we know how to handle these things. We don’t use any corporate talk or big words. We just do the work of packing, labeling, and shipping. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us making sure everything is in order. We’re just glad that a local business from Nanguneri can manage to send things all over the place. It’s a quiet life for the most part, punctuated by the rush of getting a big order out the door, and that suits us just fine.
