Sri Soundra Vilas Modern Rice Mill

Our rice mill is called Sri Soundra Vilas Modern Rice Mill and we are located at No : 13 on Venkatachalapuram Main Road. This part of Jaihindpuram is usually full of activity, especially with the trucks coming and going. The mill itself has been a part of the neighborhood for quite a bit. It is a big space where we process the grains, and you can usually hear the machines running from the street. Working in a rice mill is dusty work and it is not always quiet, but it is what we do. We spend our mornings checking the quality of the paddy that arrives and making sure the hulling machines are working right. The building on Venkatachalapuram Main Road is easy to spot because of the size. Jaihindpuram is a busy area, so there is always someone passing by or stopping in to ask about prices. We do not have a fancy office or anything like that. There is just a small desk where we keep the ledgers and a few chairs for visitors. Most of our time is spent on the floor making sure the rice is being bagged correctly. It is a lot of manual labor, but we are used to it. The modern part of our name refers to some of the equipment we brought in years ago to make the process a bit faster. It is a noisy, busy place but it is our life.
