Shanthi Foods

Shanthi Foods is located over at Perambur High Road, specifically at New No. 164. Some people still get confused and use the old number 77, but we are easy to find once you get into the Jamaliya area of Perambur. The building is an old one, and it has that specific smell of food being prepared that you find in this part of Chennai. We have been working out of here for a long time. The space is divided into a few sections for cooking and packing. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, especially when all the burners are going at once. We do not have fancy machines, mostly just big pots and manual packing stations where the staff works. The street outside is always noisy with buses and bikes zooming past. Sometimes the rain floods the road a bit, and we have to be careful with the deliveries. We do not spend much on decorating the place because we are mostly focused on the kitchen work. It is a bit cramped inside with all the ingredients stacked up against the walls, but we know where everything is. The crew is mostly people who live nearby and walk to work. We just show up, get the cooking done, and make sure the packets are ready for the morning vans. It is just a basic food business running out of an old Perambur shop.
