Sri Kamachi Amman Rice Mill

Our mill, Sri Kamachi Amman Rice Mill, is over at 29 Thurayur Road in Mannachanallur. We are located quite close to Jaymadhura Store. Having that store nearby makes it easy for people to find us. Most days, the mill is humming with the sound of the machines. It is a steady noise that fills the space while we work. The air always has that smell of grain and husks, which we have grown to like. We get a lot of local people coming by from around the neighborhood and the nearby farms. Mannachanallur is a good area for this kind of work. We don't have any polished floors or a fancy reception area. It is just a concrete workspace with heavy machines and stacks of bags everywhere. We wear our work clothes because the dust gets on everything anyway. Sometimes, when it gets too warm, we just take a break on the bench outside for a few minutes. The traffic on Thurayur Road never seems to stop, with vehicles going back and forth all day long. We focus on the tasks at hand and try to get everything milled properly for the people who need it. It is a simple way of living and we have been at this same location for a long time. We just keep doing our daily work at the mill every day without any big changes.
