S L Fruites

We are over at 12 Gandhi Market, right on Melpet Street in Tharanallur. Most mornings start pretty early here while the sun is still coming up. You can hear the trucks pulling in and the wooden crates hitting the ground. S L Fruites has been in this spot for a while now. It gets a bit crowded in the market especially on weekends when everyone is out doing their shopping. We spend a lot of time sorting through things, making sure everything looks okay on the shelves. Sometimes the heat in Tharanallur makes things move a bit slower, but we keep at it. Our shop isn't anything fancy, just a regular place with piles of fruit everywhere. You can see the different colors of the seasonal stuff as soon as you walk past. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here too. It’s a busy life in Melpet Street. We usually have a lot of bags and boxes stacked up in the corners because there never seems to be enough space. People come in and out all day, some just to chat for a minute while they pick what they need. It’s a lot of work keeping things organized when there’s so much coming in from the farms. We just try to get through the daily list and make sure the place is ready for the next morning. That’s pretty much how it goes for us here at the market.
