J L Sarees

We have been running J L Sarees for quite some time now. Our shop is at 42/1 F on Singara Shop Street, which is right near the Town Hall area. It’s a narrow street, so it gets pretty crowded with people walking by. We have stacks of sarees everywhere you look. Some are on the shelves and others are still in their bags. It’s a lot of colors and fabrics to keep track of. My family has been in this kind of work for years. We don’t have a fancy showroom with big lights. It’s just a regular shop where we show the cloth to whoever comes in. Sometimes it takes a long time for someone to pick just one. We don't mind though. It’s part of the day. The building is old, but it stays cool inside even when it’s hot out on Singara Shop Street. We know most of the other shopkeepers around Town Hall. We help each other out when someone needs change or a bit of help moving a heavy box. It’s a community feeling here. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in town. We just want to keep the doors open and sell fabric. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding all day long. My back usually aches by the evening, but that’s just how it goes. We’re glad to be here and doing what we know best in our little corner.
