Ramalinga Nagar Primary School

If you walk down 2nd Cross Street in Woriyur, Trichy, you will find Ramalinga Nagar Primary School. We are located at number 2. It is a small primary school right in the heart of the neighborhood. The street is narrow, so it gets quite crowded when the school day starts and ends. We have been part of this community for a long time. The children who come here are mostly from the houses right on this street or the next one over. It is a very local setup. Our building is old but we take care of it as much as we can. The classrooms are small and filled with the voices of young kids learning their alphabets and numbers. We have a small staff of teachers who have worked here for years. They know the families and often taught the older siblings of the current students. There is no big playground, just a small open area where the kids play during their break. We serve a midday meal, and the smell of the cooking often fills the hallway around noon. It’s a simple life at the school. We don't have computers or fancy gadgets, just books and chalk. Every afternoon, the parents wait outside the gate to walk their children home. It is a routine that hasn't changed much over the years. We just keep teaching the little ones and making sure they have their uniforms on straight. We like being part of Woriyur.
