Dhanam Garments

Dhanam Garments is located at No. 4/g2 on Benwells Road in the Cantonment area. It’s an older part of town with a lot of character and some narrow paths that can be tricky for big cars. Our shop isn't very large, but we make use of every inch of space we have. There are stacks of cloth piled up near the entrance and the sound of scissors cutting through layers of fabric is the first thing you hear when you walk in. We’ve got a handful of people who have been with us for years. They know the machines better than anyone else. The light coming through the windows in the morning is nice, but by the afternoon we’re relying on the overhead bulbs to see the details. Being in the Cantonment means it’s a bit different from the newer shopping districts. It’s a bit more relaxed, though Benwells Road still has its busy moments with people passing through. We don't do much in the way of advertising; usually, people just find us by word of mouth or by walking past and seeing the work being done. We focus on getting the stitching right and making sure the sizes are what they should be. It’s basic work, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we stay late if there’s a big order to finish, but mostly we stick to our regular hours and keep a steady pace throughout the year.
