If you head over to Rajappa Nagar in the Kattur area of Trichy, you’ll find us on Mariamman Kovil Street. Our building is number 2 168. We focus on mosaics, which is a bit different from just moving big slabs of rock around. It involves a lot of small details and making sure the colors match up well. The workshop is usually full of crates and boxes of small tiles. It’s a lot of sitting and sorting sometimes, which can be tough on the back, but seeing the patterns come together is pretty good. We have a few fans going all the time because Tiruchirappalli gets incredibly hot in the summer months. The staff here is mostly local folks who know the area well. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that; usually, one of us just walks over from the work area if someone knocks on the door. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the pieces because even a small chip can ruin the whole look of a mosaic set. We get deliveries of raw materials and then we have to figure out where to put everything so we still have room to walk. It’s a bit of a puzzle every day. We just take things as they come and try to keep the orders moving out on time. It’s honest work and it keeps the lights on for everyone here.
