Five Star Marbles

If you are heading down Madurai Road in Palakkarai, you will see us at number 11. We are right there in Sangillyandapuram. It’s a lively part of the city. We have a lot of marble in stock. It’s stacked up high in some places. Working here means you get used to the weight of the slabs and the cold feel of the stone. We spend our days helping people who are trying to fix up their homes. They come in with measurements on scraps of paper, and we try to find the pieces that fit what they are looking for. It is a lot of lifting and shifting. The floor of the shop is always covered in a bit of grit, no matter how much we sweep. We aren't a big corporation; it’s just a local shop where we know how to handle marble. Sometimes we have to cut things to size, and that’s a loud, messy process. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team. We just have our location on Madurai Road and the marble we sell. It’s a straightforward business. We like the neighborhood and the regulars who stop by just to see what new stock has arrived. It’s just us, working with stone, trying to keep the business going one day at a time. It’s not always easy, but it is what we know. We are usually here from morning until the sun goes down.
