Bhavani Granite

The yard here at 9, Ganesh Nagar is usually pretty dusty by noon. We spend most of our time moving heavy slabs around and checking for cracks that happen during transport. Being right on Tanjore Main Road in Kattur means there is always traffic noise and people stopping by to ask about different types of stone. It is not a fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a place where we keep the inventory and try to keep things organized. Some days are slow and we just sit around cleaning the edges of the granite, and other days it is non-stop with trucks coming in and out. The weather gets really hot here so we try to get the heavy lifting done early in the morning before the sun gets too high. We have been in this spot for a while now and most people in the neighborhood know where we are. Dealing with stone is heavy work and our hands are always rough from the dust and the water we use to polish things up. It is just a regular business. We don't have a big office, just a small desk where we keep the ledger and the phone. Sometimes the slabs come in from far away and they don't look like what we expected, so we have to figure out what to do with them. That's just how it goes in the granite trade.
