Maharaja Morden Rice Mill

Maharaja Morden Rice Mill is tucked away at No 4/456 on Vinayakar Kovil Street in C.R. Colony. It’s a neighborhood where everyone kind of knows each other. We have the temple nearby, so you can often hear the bells while we are working in the mill. We handle modern rice processing, but the way we work is still very much the old-fashioned way of putting in the hours. The machinery we use is updated, hence the name, but the day-to-day is just hard work. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the rice coming through the pipes. The air inside the mill always feels a bit heavy with the scent of grain. We have a small group of workers who are like family. We’ve been in C.R. Colony for years now. Most of our customers live just a few streets away. They walk over or come on their bikes to see what we have. We don't spend any time on fancy brochures or websites. We just stay busy on Vinayakar Kovil Street. Some days are longer than others, especially during the harvest time when everyone wants their rice done at once. We just do the best we can with what we have. It’s a decent living and we like being part of the community here. If you are in the colony, you can easily find us near the temple.
