Jangam Rice Mandi

Jangam Rice Mandi has been sitting on Selva Mariamman Koil Street for a long time. Our address is 23/C, and it is a spot that most people in the Woraiyur area can find without much trouble at all. We sell rice in big bags mostly. It is a heavy job, lifting those sacks all day, so we are usually a bit tired by the time evening rolls around. The shop itself is not very big, so we have to stack the rice bags high up to the ceiling to make everything fit. You have to be a bit careful walking through the narrow aisles sometimes so you do not bump into anything. We get different types of rice depending on what the local farmers have brought in. Some weeks we have plenty of one kind, and then it is suddenly all gone the next week. We try to keep the prices fair because we know everyone is trying to save a bit of money for their families these days. It is just us running the place, so if the phone rings while we are busy helping a customer, it might just keep ringing for a bit until we can get to it. We do not have fancy displays or bright signs. People come here because they know what to expect and they have been coming for many years. The street outside can get a bit tight with traffic, especially when a big truck is trying to unload. We just do our best to get through the work.
