Iyyanar Rice Mill

We are located at 527, V K Puram. The rice mill has been here for years. It is a simple place with a lot of dust from the husks. Farmers bring their sacks of paddy in the morning. We spend most of the day running the machines. It gets loud inside, so we mostly talk with hand signals when the motors are going. The building isn't much to look at, but it keeps the rain off the grain. Sometimes the power goes out and everything stops, which is just how it is around here. We work until the sun goes down most days. There is always a lot of cleaning to do because the rice dust gets everywhere. You can find us right on the main stretch of V K Puram. Most of the people around here know us by name. We don't have a big office or anything, just a desk with a lot of papers and a phone that rings sometimes. When the harvest is in, we are very busy and there are trucks lined up outside. Other times, it is quieter and we just fix the belts or oil the parts. We have been doing this a long time and the routine stays the same. People bring their grain, we mill it, and they take it home. It's plain work but it's what we do here at Iyyanar Rice Mill.
